Leef Peeping - Part III

So after leaving on roads that looked like this,
 
 we decided not to take the Skyline Drive like we had originally planned. 
So we crossed over the Shenandoah National Park, following a snow plow most of the way!

Once out of the mountains, there was just a light drizzle, and our trip finally began to feel a little less like winter and a lot more like fall!

Since we now found ourselves with time on our hands, we decided to check out Montpelier - James Madison's house.
 
 

Here's the view from the front of Montpelier. (In the distance, mostly covered by clouds, are the Blue Ridge Mountains.)

Eventually, the rain let up, and we got a few pictures of colorful trees.
